RAPE: Protect the sanctity of Nigerian Women and Children, UCCN Clergy tells Buhari

The President of the United Church Of Christ In Nations (UCCN), Rev. Amos G. Kiri has called on the Federal Government to protect the sanctity of Nigerian Women and Children.

Rev. Kiri noted that the rising rape cases of young children and women are completely unacceptable and unbefitting of a God-fearing nation like Nigeria.

He raised alarm on the number of widows, orphans, displaced communities, and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) that has kept increasing on a daily basis.

in his words, “Rape cases of children and women is completely unacceptable and unbefitting of a God-fearing nation. Whatever can be done through legislation would have to be done to maintain the sanctity of our women and children”.

The clergyman also charged Nigerian Federal Lawmakers to join forces with the Federal Government in restoring the dignity of Nigerian Women and Children, by sponsoring bills that would protect their safety and rights.

The President of the United Church of Christ In Nations (UCCN) made this call while delivering his speech on the state of the nation and the church on Sunday at Kaduna.
