The National Examination Council (NECO) has announced on its Twitter handle the suspension of all 2020 School Candidate Examination activities in the country.
The Examination Council stated that the cancellation is as a result of the nationwide #EndSARS protest that has recently turned violent.
The cancellation affects examinations to be written on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
However, the cancelled examinations are rescheduled to hold on the 17th, 18th, and 19th of November 2020 respectively.
Earlier, the examination body had insisted on continuing with the exams despite the Nationwide protest, but the recent turn of events had forced the council to suspend the examinations nationwide.
The Council advised the students to return to their parents and remain at home till normalcy is restored in the country.
In the meantime, NECO has released the 2020 Basic Examination Council Examination (BECE) results on their website.
The body explained that schools and candidates that sat for the examination can access their results by purchasing a result checker token from result.neco.gov.ng
