Imo State governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma has approved the constitution of a new governing council for Imo State University Owerri (IMSU).
This was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Governor, Chief Cosmos Iwu, and made available to Hanoky Media.
The members of the seven-man council are to be headed by Most. Rev. Lucius Ugorji, the Apostolic Administrator of Ahiara Diocese.
Other members of the council include; Chief Leostan Ekeh, Chief Tony Ezenna, Sir Louis Ezeigwe, Chief Ernest Nwapa, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, and Mrs. Victoria Adaku Ekezie.
Also in the statement, statutory members include the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, four members to be nominated by the University Senate, one representative from the academic and one from the non-academic staff, one person appointed by the convocation for members of the body and permanent secretary, Ministry of Education.
Hanoky Media gathered that a date for the inauguration is yet to be set.
