The three members of the Kebbi State Executive Council, who were recently nominated by the State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, have received confirmation from the State House of Assembly in Birnin Kebbi yesterday.
The nominees are Hon. Maigari Abdullahi Dakingari, Hon. Garba Ibrahim Geza, and Hon. Hayatu A. Bawa.
The leader of the House, Faruku Aliyu Nassarawa Jega, who moved a motion to the effect, stated that “pursuant to section 192, sub-section 2 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended, the State Governor intends to appoint Commissioners to assist him in performing the constitutional function as the Chief Executive Officer of the state.”
Another motion was thereafter moved by Member Muhammed Usman, representing Zuru Constituency, stating that the nominees be invited to the Chambers for screening.
This motion was seconded by Member Muhammed Tukur, representing Shanga Constituency.
The nominees were then screened and their appointments as Commissioners and members of the State Executive Council were confirmed by the House members.
Speaking to newsmen after the confirmation, the Commissioners commended the State House of Assembly for the confirmation and assured the people of Kebbi State of their readiness to complement the State Government’s efforts in the development of the state.
