Speaking during the event on Wednesday, the Chief Medical Ditector of the hospital, Dr. Emeka Ogah said the machine was first of its kind in the whole country.
Dr. Ogah added that the new approach was to eliminate the old formation of signing in and out in the register which he said consumes time and encourages clustering.
“All you need to do is to come close to the machine and it will capture you in less than 5 second.
“And with this machine, the issue of clustering by staff to sign-in and out in the daily attendance list or register is gone. So it is a good omen to the institution essentially at this period of COVID-19.
‘So, fear of people clustering will not arise again, we can at easy check any staff attendance without going to register”, he explained.
Hanoky Media gathered that over 12 pieces of the device have been mounted for use at the hospital.
