The National President of the Billital Maroobe Pastoralist Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Ali Dako has called on Northern Governors to emulate Kano State Governor, Alh. Umar Ganduje on RUGA settlement.
Dako, who charged Governor Ganduje to establish more grazing lands to accommodate more herders, also cautioned herdsmen against violating the RUGA settlement’s terms by entering into farmlands that might cause crisis.
He made this call at Kunnawa Dam Grazing Land in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of the state during the official inauguration of the settlement.
“I am calling on the Governors of the Northern states to emulate Kano State Governor on the implementation of RUGA settlements in their respective domains”.
“To Governor Ganduje, he should restore more grazing lands in the state. Kano is blessed with wide lands”.
“And to my fellow herders, I implore you to always graze in the demarcated settlements provided by the State Government. Don’t cross it”, he urged.
Speaking also, Alhaji Ardo Geza, the leader of Kunnawa Dam grazing land appraised Governor Ganduje for his great laudable agricultural programs in the state.
“We are very happy and we wish to thank Governor Ganduje for the restoration of grazing lands in Kano”, he said.
The Kano State President of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Alhaji Abdulrashid Gado among others attended the programme.
