The Emir of Zazzau and Chairman, Kaduna State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, Shehu Idris has been buried in the ancient city of Zaria according to Islamic rites.
The Monarch died on Sunday Morning in Kaduna, aged 84.
The eighty-four-year-old monarch died Sunday morning at the forty-four army reference hospital in Kaduna.
Thousands thronged the ancient city in his honour before the burial which took place around 5 pm.
In attendance was a presidential delegation from Abuja, led by Ibrahim Gambari, the Chief of Staff to President Buhari.
They described the deceased as one who has worked for the peace, unity and development of Kaduna state and the nation at large, saying that his fatherly role in the state and the nation at large will be sorely missed.
They prayed for Allah to forgive his sins, and grant him Jannatu Firdausi, translated in English to be the highest place in paradise Islamically.
